Microsoft has updated its beleaguered PC Health Check
app, but closer inspection reveals it’s still having problems
We’ve found it to be crashing, at least on the computers our colleagues use.

We were the first to report that right after the event, Microsoft released the PC Health Check app, which lets you know if your device is ready for Windows 11 or not.

We also quickly discovered that many people were suffering from an incompatibility error with Windows 11 that was easily resolved.

However, the Windows PC Health Check program was still sending bugs to thousands and thousands of early Windows 11 users who wanted to make sure they could install Windows 11 as early as next week if they were members of the Insider program.

Microsoft responded quickly by releasing a quick fix that explains in a little more detail why you can’t upgrade to Windows 11. It is important to remember that a recently updated application can lead to false negatives.

At the time of writing, the application has been updated to version 2.3, which tells you, for example, which part of your system is not supported. B. CPU, Secure Boot, or TPM.

The update of the PC Health Check application does not open or hangs up.

However, when we started the application on different computers, it did not open. When I opened the app, it said it needed to be updated.

And this is the first time it got stuck in the installation process. It also blocks itself when preparing to install an update or in the already known we prepare everything for you. For some, it doesn’t move after collecting data from your PC.

And if it doesn’t hang up, it looks like the installation process isn’t going quite right. We tried running it as administrator and in compatibility mode, but it still wouldn’t open. At the moment, the problem doesn’t seem to be affecting a large number of users, but we are seeing more and more discussions online, and one user reported the following on the Microsoft support forums:

I recently successfully installed PC Health Check from the Microsoft website, but when I try to run the Windows 11 Compatibility Check option, the application freezes and nothing is displayed.

So it seems that, at least for now, this new version is disappointing to some users. What can work is the following simple steps:

Just click on the WindowsPCHealthCheckSetup.msi
installation file again. The application will open automatically and should work smoothly.

The only problem is that every time you want to check compatibility with Windows 11, you have to do the same thing instead of running an installed application.

It is also important to note that this version was released as a quick fix and we will see a major update in the coming weeks.
